How much do you .50 BMG gunners pay for .50 AP "Slap" rounds? What is a good price per round for these? Thanks.

Depends on if they are real, SLAP and SLAP-T usually sell for $20-$25. The brass should have a WCC headstamp and the projo should weigh around 350grs. and be made out of tungsten.

The ones that you can load yourself usually run about $10-15 per 100 for the sabots. You can load a .30 cal projo into these but I don't think they're as accurate or dependable as the real ones. Barrett had M82's with special SLAP chambers, not all .50's can chamber them as they seat longer. It's also a good idea to take your muzzle brake off when shooting them to avoid the sabot from contacting it.

I could be wrong on the price for the sabot's try www.maadigriffin.com

I can't remember exactly which manufacturer, but one specifically warns against the removal of the muzzle brake to prevent damage the the weapon and/or shooter.

I for one would not want to shoot a .50 cal with a "nekkid" barrel.

True but the pressure levels for saboted ammo is different, I've heard of people loading their own .50 sabots up to 260+ grains of powder. They said even with this high of a loading there was very minimal felt recoil.

There is also the chance of the sabot opening up and contacting the brake, this would not be a good thing. Having your brake explode or pieces of the sabot coming back at you could ruin your day.
