Has anyone shot the 50 grn vmax from a 1:8 twist barrel? If how, how was the accuracy? I think it should work fine, but want to see if anyone has shot the combination. Thanks.

My 1/8 twist 18" Rock River will shoot 50 grain v-max sub-Moa all day long. They're my preferred varmint round and it works well with my 1/9 twist and 1/12 twist bolt guns too, accuracy is consistent across the board.

Worked fine for me. Just for fun I even tried some little teeny 40 grain bullets that I had for my .22-250. They worked quite well in a S&W 1:8 5R, melonite-treated barrel.

I've heard federals 50gr tipped varmints are just a vmax with grey tip?!? These shoot the best out of my 1:7 16"CHF psa upper

Thanks. I have been having great accuracy with the 40 grn vmax factory loads in a 1:12 twist in my CZ bolt, and am going to see if I have equally good accuracy with the 50 grn vmax in my WOA 1:8 upper. Could try the 40's first without buying the 50 I suppose.

I have gone as low as 52 gr and 1/7 and a 1/9 but not lower, accuracy was surprisingly good.

About the only problem you can expect from shooting light bullets in a fast twist is they may be too fragile. If that's the case, you'll see a streak of "smoke" going down-range and no holes in the target. I doubt that will happen with the V-Max.
