Wow. I'm looking at the position of the hammer on the frame. I guess that to keep the hammer tang in reach of the thumb it had to be lowered relative to the top of this huge frame.

That thing is too bigIwantone, too weird-lookingIwantone, recoils too muchIwantone, and serves no purpose that can't already be done with another revolverIwantone.

Tamara pretty much covered the subject for me. Guess the wheelgun's answer to the Desert Eagle?

I want to know when were are going to see Ruger come out with the UltimateRedHawk chambered for the 50S&WMagnum. :D

You know, the overengineered revolver that is capable of handling twice the pressure that a S&W revolver can.

Yeah, except the rollmark on the barrel would read:

.500 Magnum

VictorLouis,

I'll be danged, can you believe that the rollmark on my 629 says ".44 Magnum", with no mention of Remington?

Given the opportunity I'll definitely shoot one just to try it. I will still use my BFR in 45/70 for hunting and fun. It is nice to have rifles and handguns in the same caliber. Be nice to see the specs on the rounds. I'll bet the thing snaps like a 454. It sure won't have a single action roll to it.

Here is a cartridge comparison.

Tamara, that may be because the original name of the Model 29 was "44 Magnum." The 629 is just a stainless steel version of the 44 Magnum, IIRC.

Similarly, the Model 27 is named "357 S&W Magnum." So, imho, if you say you have a S&W 357 Magnum, it can be reasonably construed to be that you are saying you have a Model 27.

500swmag,

If sales are as strong as the interest being generated, it looks like you have a real winner here.

Can you give some insight on how this project came to be and maybe what was the motivating factory in building such a beast and who exactly is the target audience.
