I'm looking for reduced loads.
Looking for around 2,000fps or less with 130gr bullets to see what would happen with my 6.5 hunting load out to 400yd and beyond.
I could just put the water jugs out to 400yd+ and shot them, but the range I go to only goes to about 330yd where it's flat. Plus they don't want people shooting water jugs probably because people leave shot up jugs or pieces of the blasted apart jugs all over the range.
Some times it takes 3 shots to catch a bullet in the backstop even at close range.
So far I have done a full muzzle velocity test, nothing but tiny fragmentation and milk jug bits, no surprise there.
A 100yd test was achieved by reducing my normal load a few grains, still pure fragmentation, found bigger bullet fragments and bigger/fewer milk jug pieces.
Pretty much don't shoot anything at less than 100yd with the 6.5 using lead bullets if you plan on eating it.
The slowest published load I can find for 130gr uses w748 down to about 2,400fps. That's my 200yd shot, so its covered.
I have and used imr4350, h322, w748, re7, al410 to make reduced velocity 30-30s, was able to drop down to like 1,650fps with al410 in 30-30.
