Like the title says, I need a lead bullet mold that will cast a .268 bullet, the closest I've found is the Lyman .266 which is on backorder with the round nose 140 grain. I've checked every brand including Lee, all to no avail. Any help in directing me to a lead mold that will cast close to a .268 Bullet I'll be very appreciative. Incidentally, my Carcano Italian carbine has a weird rifling, and after slugging the barrel, I've found it is right at .268 diameter. Other than that the bore is bright and sharp, I've shot Hornady 6.5MM in the .264 with dismal results, all over the paper at 25 yards.

I would add, at this time, rarer bullet molds such as 6.5 won't be in a regular production rotation as would be other popular sizes.

I thank ya kindly there kcofohio, never heard of them until you enlightened me, looks like I'll be doing business with them here shortly.

If you powder coat it easy to gain a thow or two. If you slug 268 I would want to shoot 269. Casting a 270 would give you some wiggle room for sizing, and you can order any size you want from accurate molds.

Thank ya AJC1, I've been casting my own bullets now for about 45 years, and I've tried the powder coating method, and just didn't seem to care for it as far as increased accuracy etc. as compared to the gas checked cast bullets go.

I dont thimk you get better accuracy from PC all factors being equal, but if you.need more size than your model can drop that may.
