I'm thinking of getting a 6 ARC for coyote hunting, but not sure where to start. I definitely want an ar platform, but don't want to break the bank too bad. I'm thinking under $1k, but I can't seem to find a ton of options. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places? Anyways, I want it be a nice good quality rifle, and want it to be accurate, but I'm not sure whether to buy or to build. Any suggestions would be very welcome

Probably best to build your own, you'll get more for your money. I'd pickup an aero upper and lower maybe even a bcm upper, LaRue trigger, most any barrel out there will shoot good enough for your needs and your Probably not shooting super far so a 16-18" barrel should be plenty. Pick whatever other parts you like.

I wanted a lightweight 18" ARC for hunting after I shot my heavy 22" for a while. I didn't see too many barrel options so I wound up ordering an 18" rlgs lightweight barrel from X-Caliber during one of their 20% off sales and have been very happy with it for a general purpose and hunting rifle. If you can wait a bit for them to spin one up, might be a good option.

I need to build a lightweight version myself I love my target model but it’s so damn heavy! The barrel is like 4lbs

I assembled my upper and went with an Odin Works 18" barrel. I have been very pleased on how it shoots. I have only shot factory 105Gr and 108Gr ammo so far. Here are a couple of phots showing my final 5 shot groups with both. The final 5 shot groups are circled in yellow. The others are from getting the scope dialed in at 100 yards.

while i like classic wood/steel guns i have two 6 arc guns. one is a savage axis ii and the other is a satern upper. the savage axis shoots extremely well but has as much of pride of ownership as a dead dog. it aint no win 70, rem 700 or a ruger 77.
....the satern is as nice of a ar as it gets. not a mark or assemble tool smudge anywhere. steves deal is something to be proud of. still working on sighting that one in.
...i do like not loosing brass with the axis but doesnt feed near as good it should from that funky magazine. the satern upper feeds and function awesomely. fwiw bob

You said you wanted an AR. I bought a PSA lower and upper on separate occasions when they were on sale. The upper came with an 18-inch 6.5 Grendel barrel, that I swapped out for a 24-inch EABCO "Accuracy Barrel" in 6mm ARC. I replaced the stock with a Magpul PRS-Lite. Trigger is a Lantac E-CT1. Vortex Viper HST 6-24x50 VMR-1 (MOA) in a Warne 20 MOA mount. Since this picture was taken, I replaced the flash hider with an Area 419 Hellfire brake. It shoots sub MOA with factory ammo.
