Had them side by side, and chose the S&W. Trigger is lighter on the lcr, but seemed a little bulkier. I also like the "fit" in my hand better on the 642.
NIB out the door $423.00
Not a great deal but they are hard to find right now.
I want a 442 to complete the collection...:D

Gonna go POW tomorrow.

I had a 442...

But when my youngest daughter showed me her CCW. I reached in my pocket and gave my 442 to her. Later I got a 642 and I put pink laser grips on it, thinking I'd trade it for my old manly-looking 442. No joy. She likes the 442 and she hates pink. Guess what I carry now...!

Good choice! I've got both the LCR and 642. Both fine revolvers but I prefer the looks and feel of the Smith. I did a trigger job on my 642 recently following a nutnfancy youtube video. It took under an hour and brought the pull down from 14 to 11 1/2 pounds (same as the LCR) and really smoothed it out.

Why not compare the S&W Bodyguard to the M642 instead of the LCR? I think the Bodyguard is a better revolver than the LCR and the laser is a bonus...

That said, I'm also a huge M442 fan and it's my daily carry...

Same here , the first time I picked up a 642 I knew that was the pocket revolver for me. Mine is also a 642-1 , bought a few weeks ago. Last week was my first range session and I fired mostly 125 XTPs and some 148 HBC just for kicks. I have not decided yet on what kind of defensive ammo to use.
