I was wondering if anyone has experience with the S&W 66 F comp? It looks like a great gun and I'm thinking of trading in my taurus tracker with a 6"barrel for one of these bad boys. I'm thinking primary use would be wilderness carry and home defense. The taurus is just too long for me to carry. thanks, Jeff

I know what you mean, Chef...great looking handgun. Although S&W has ticked off a lot of folks, I'm definitely not one of them! Buy it!

For home defense maybe, for wilderness carry I think you could do better. It is a beautifull gun to add to you collection though.

I love my F-comp. Guns made by the Performance Center are tighter and better finished that standard production models. And a sweeter trigger. Unlike a 65 Ladysmith, the ported barrel reduces the muzzle flip and the adjustable sights are more useful.

I have a thing for snubbies so for me the F-comp is a great gun for a walk in the woods. Walks where I am not intending to hunt anything but want something - just in case. In Vermont, most "dangers" would be a black bear or a fisher cat so a 357 or 44 snubbie works for me.
