Yesterday I sat on the deck cleaning guns, and I posted pics of my 2.5”, 686. Tonight after dinner I again sat outside enjoying the weather and cleaning a gun. Tonight it was my 3 inch 686. Had it out to the range a few weeks ago and it was grubby, but it cleaned up OK
Late summer/early fall Of 2019 was the height of the Gun sales slump. A LGS advertised a 1 day only, cash only, 20% off on all used handguns.
I had been in there a week or two earlier and had seen this 3 inch 686 plus, priced at $599, so 20% off was phenomenal. I had actually handled this gun a couple times since it appeared 6 or 7 weeks earlier in the shop. Immediately after hearing about the sale, I called to see if they still had it. They did but would not hold it for me until the sale the next day. It was first come, first served. Got up the next morning and made the 30 mile drive to the shop. Arrived 5 minutes after opening and bought it. The bonus was when I saw the envelope with the test fire cartridge. It was dated 6-8-2011 and June 8 is my birthday.
