Over my 50+ years of fooling with guns I’ve never spent money to improve their looks. Trigger jobs, accurizing, improve reliability, absolutely but refinishing, engraving, etc; no. That said, I have a very accurate 686 with extensive trigger work.

Saw a set of Texas Grips holly wood stocks for sale on another form and just couldn’t resist. Decided why not.

I like light colored stocks on my revolvers. I do not have holly, yet, but I have a 5/4 x 6 x 30” piece of it drying in the crawl space.

I do have a few smooth elk stocks, my edc.

A couple of Model 1950, 45 ACP Target revolvers.

Oops, the bottom revolver is sporting smooth caribou!

A couple of Model 1950 and Model 1955 Target revolvers.

And quite a few more.

Although the horn's don't look too bad either. :)

And while I do like my 686, the older 19's just have those classic lines and feel that the new stuff just cant beat. :)

I do like some of the ivory and poly ivory grips, but I wish someone would offer them in a more aged color too. Most of them are "too white" to the point of being too stark, and I think that takes away more than it gives.
