Took my little friends with me to the range today. It was very nice out for the first day of March here in NH. I have to say that the 15-4 I picked up is sweet with a capital S! The trigger is just beautiful and the grips are not that bad, but they will look better with some nice Ahrends. I would have liked to shoot better, but I am more than happy for the first time out. The 696-1 was awesome to shoot. It was like a heavy .357. I did not think the recoil was bad at all and I enjoyed shooting the 180, 200, and 210gr. bullets I loaded. The trigger is nice, but not as smooth as the 15-4. I did notice that the 696-1 got quite dirty after about 60 rounds. I liked the Hornady 200gr. XTP HP's with Bullseye most of all. I did not do as well as I had hoped for, but a few more range trips and I will be grouping much better. I just need to learn the muzzle flip. Both revolvers are keepers for sure and the 696-1 will be on my side when I go hiking this Spring. I think the 696-1 is one of the best purchases I have ever made. I am not too happy with the flyers on each target, but crap happens so I won't beat myself up too bad. Here are the pics.

I can only speak to the 15-4 because it was my first S&W. Those "fliers" will disappear soon enough. You will not be able to stop it, they will just be gone. Old 112
