I saw a bearly used Custom II black finish at a local shop for $699. Is this a fare price. The thing looks brand new. There is not even any brass on the feed ramp. At a guess it has maybe had 100rounds through it ......If that!! The finish is perfect......I mean its practically looks new! What do you guys and galls think??? Should I get it???

Thanks for the input Russ. Thats a pretty good price but once you add in tax, FFL bs, and shpping i'm in around the same price if not more. Plus I'm a firm believer in keeping my money local and staying off of website ordering. I also like the instant gratification. Like I said this one im looking at is basically new. I also noticed that that is a sale price on that site. They normaly sell them for $779. Thats about the going price for a new one around here. Maybe a little less around here.

Just from looking around at prices on the internet it doesn't look like it's all that great of a deal. But, if buying one off the net isn't your thing, then local prices are what you're going to have to compare them too. I have seen them on the net like Russ said for around $700 new. I shop exclusively at my local stores too unless they just don't have what I want.

If you like it, I'd offer less and see where it goes. He might come down a little bit, especially since the new version isn't THAT much more.

Has the P.O. done any upgrades? Any extra magazines? Mag well?

Is it going to have a warranty? If not I would get the one for $679 and shop around for the ffl fees for the best price. I use an FFL here in california where I order the gun and all he does is receive it for the transfer. He charges $60 and no tax. If kimber won't cover the warranty and you have a problem it's going to cost you more than a new one. Mark

Just so you know that shop is my local one and he always has great prices. I have bought several guns there. Its not just online...Russ

Old crow...No upgrades as far as I know. Comes with 2 mags, instructions, and box. Railroader.....excellent point. I was also thinking about that. I'm not sure I'll have to call Kimber tomorrow and see what they say. You know come to think of it a new Custom II black at the other shop is $750. I've also looked at the Taurus PT1911 Duo tone for $609. I just don't know if I want a Brazilian gun. They also have Paras...........There's just too many damn choices. I am just stuck on the Kimber cause I really like the trigger......Alot!
