I want to start to reload for a 6mm GT project, and I am now on a quest to gather dies, projectiles, and powder to feed this thing. It will probably take me a couple of months to get all of the rifle parts, but I want to collect what I can now.
I read somewhere that the GT was designed to use Varget as the powder of choice.
Well, since Varget is kind of hard to get, and much more expensive than other offerings, I am leaning towards RamShot Big Game.
Any input from somebody reloading for the GT using Big Game?

Varget or H-4350 both work, likely others, but my buddy Jeff has had success with both. He prefers 4350. No experience with Big Game

Big Game is pretty close to Varget in burn rate and Hodgdon does list load data for a wide variety of bullet weights for it. Id say give it a try.

Varget or H4350.

Both fly off of shelves, but neither are really “hard to get.”

I’ve bought 24lbs of Varget in 3 orders in the last 4 months. Buy it when you find it, and actually try to find it.

They have varget at my bps for 49.99 and in lots of shops for 53.00 plus tax. I'm not playing.

Our Reloder(R) TS 15.5 was designed with this 6mm GT and other applications that were using Varget or Reloder 15 in mind. Users were pumping more pressure than they wanted into their expensive brass in these applications with those propellants so we developed TS 15.5 which fits between RL 15 and RL 16 to allow good ballistics at lower pressures, or higher velocities at similar pressure levels. Feedback to the new powder has been outstanding, and it sells out as fast as we get it to market so you will need to work to get some. We just placed a batch into distribution recently, so it will be popping up as it moves through.
Good luck with your new project Tinker-S,
Paul

I know for a fact that RL-15.5 works in Dasher, it's what I'm using in my second Dasher, so it should also work in GT

I'm pretty sure I'm the first person to post about it here and I've still never seen it. The only rifle powder I've seen and bought since then was 10x. I'm not going to search out and pay big bucks for powder that's impossible to get. Heck just get some AR Comp on the shelf and we can be happy.

AR-Comp is also currently in distribution.
It popped at Powder Valley this morning.
The market is still quite dry, so popular powders get scooped up as soon as they arrive.
