Now that the surplus Tokarev ammo has dried up, I've been looking for a cheap replacement.

Maybe we'll eventually see the surplus stuff again, but it'll be more expensive.

So my solution is resizing other brass.

I read somewhere that .223 brass works.
So I cut down some .223 to 1.1 inches.
Then ran it thru my 7.62x25 dies.
& finished trimming on my Lyman Power Trimmer.

Stuff looks great! I'm waiting for my shipment of Berry's .309" bullets.
Will post again after I have a chance to do a range session.

My Tok isn't very accurate, but in close quarters I sure would want to get hit with it.
We'll see if this improves the accuracy, makes it worse, or changes nothing.

My thanks to who ever originally posted the idea of using 223 brass! :D

I have been using S&B new ammo and then saving the brass. I normally don't shoot 'hundreds' of rounds thru my CZ-52 at a session, and it doesn't come along at every range trip anyway, so 2-3 boxes of new would provide a brass supply that will last a looooong time.

Fortunately I scored 6 -72 round packs of surplus at a local gun show which for me will be a year's supply at the least.

My brother, my nephew & I went to the range this afternoon.
I had 2 boxes of my reloads (50 each) & they're both gone.

I'm a disabled vet & just to get out of the house I like to go 2 or 3 times a week.
I don't always take my Tokarev along, but I tend to go through 4-6 boxes a month.
Just to give you an idea of how much I go through, I bought one of thos spam cans (1260 rounds) in Feb.
It's been gone for over a month.

And I have several thousand .223 brass, so 500 or so will be made into Tok rounds.

Im like Randy. I save retail brass. And have even found some at the range in the tall grass. :)

Im down to 500 rounds or so of surplus, about 200 rounds of retail and 200 of reload.
