I am going to try my hand at loading the 7.62x39 for my SKS with .310 plated bullets. I got a hand-full of them in a trade and they worked OK using starting jacked data. But only got 10 of them and want to find out where any of you are getting them and what your cost is/was. I think that they were Berries but not even sure of that. I am looking for bulk, say 500 qty packages. I already reload this round using Hornaday soft points and am looking for some cheaper accuracy not just the steel stuff. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for that link RC. I was looking for possibly any other brand of bullets that are on the market at the present time also. There are others here that are involved with some new stuff I never even thought about yet and was wondering if that applied in this situation. Some of the vendors also sell products for less than the manufacturer at times and wondered about that here as well.

Frogo, take a look at extreme bullets;

139 flat point .312 bullets @ $49.50/500. No, I haven't tried them.

I have one load for my buddies SKS with 150 grain cast @ 312 that shoots pretty darn good. Works the action, no leading and a good group @ 25 yds. Gotta stretch the range out to 100 and chrono them. Was just function testing and testing 2 load workups, using H-4227 and Aliant-2400. H-4227 was the winner @ 16.0 grains.

I have slow fingers.:banghead: Thanks all. I may be looking at lead bullets after all. I was thinking that they would be a poor choice for that particular rifle. I love it when I learn a new thing or two.:D
