In a 71/84 Mauser does the tube magazine have a spring and plunger to keep the next round ready to load or did the soldier have to tilt the rifle up and shake it to get the shell into the elevator?
I had one of these rifles in the early '70s and traded it away in the '80s. I probably should have kept it. The one I had still had the plunger or follower, but the spring was gone. There used to be parts available from Sarco or one of those outfits, and they show the parts in a schematic.
If you GOTO ( www.gunpartscorp.com ) NUMRICH GUN PARTS you can find an exploded diagram for the MAUSER 71/84 . I have a 71 and a 71/84 , .43 (11mm) MAUSER is a lot of fun to shoot. Reloading dies are available from LEE , cast bullets and brass are available ,you just have to check around to see who in your area has them. Or check out SHOTGUN NEWS, I have seen both brass and bullets advertised there at times.
