7mm Rem mag 150vs 180?

I have a friend that shoots a 7mm rem mag, and 2 days ago I heard the oddest thing, he said that his 180 gr bullets were louder than his 150 gr bullets, have any of you noticed this? I think about it, I've never heard of 180 gr for a 7mm Rem mag.

Berger has a 180gr 7mm match hunting bullet available and Wildcat Bullets has a 200gr 7mm ULD RBBT with a BC of close to .900.
You need a big case to take advantage of those heavy weights.
