I've got a Winchester Mod 70 in 7mm STW and love it, I've been loading 160 nosler accubonds and was thinking of trying out some of the berger 168 vld's, where can you find loading data? Just looking for a starting load and powder ideas. Also if any one has used the bergers for hunting what are your thoughts, the STW is my primary hunting rifle for deer and elk and the nosler has work great no complaints, just thinking of trying out a new load. So far I've been lucky and have not had shoot at anything but paper over 250 yards, but where I hunt the possibility to shoot way past that is there, thanks for any thoughts.

I sold my Winchester Classic Laredo in 7MM STW, wished that I haven't done that, super caliber.... I was going to reload the Hornady 162 gr. bullets with H1000 but the trip out west never happened and traded it off............

You can go to Hogdon's web site where you'll find a pretty good number of powders and load data to work with. And Alliant also has a site with some of their excellent powders and data. That cartridge is an excellent long range performer, and will out shoot most of our ability in this respect.
Have fun, and welcome to THR !!

Just a suggestion:
Widener's and Jeff Bartlett (www.wideners.com and www.gibrass.com) have WC-872 and other .50BMG surplus powders for sale. Price is under $10lb. These powders work superbly in the STW, WbyMag, and RemUltMag cartridges.

I've been using some WC-860 (similar, but not exactly same powder) in my .257wby and .300RUM with excellent results.

This would/will lower the cost of shooting the 7mmSTW to less than the cost of shooting a 7mm08, just on the powder alone.

The most accurate load I've found for my .300RUM is a near full case of WC-860 under the lowley Remington 180gr CorLokt for 3,300fps. I bought the bullets back when they were ~.10 each! For a while, I could shoot my .300RUM for little more than my .30/30 with cast bullets.....

Thanks for the web sight info GooseGestapo, first time I've see them. And love the motto, very true in my area.
