XBR has not showed up on shelves or online in over a year. Anyone have any experience with another short extruded stick powder like XBR? Albeit XBR is/was kind of pricey, for 75gr I have only ever used XBR. For a short stick powder it meters well and produces an accurate round for me (ymmv).

For 55gr - 62gr plinkers im using X-Term and TAC. I guess I could try TAC with the 75gr since there is data for it but that short extruded stick powder kinda lights my fire...

Another possibility is Shooters World Precision Rifle, (a Czech version of Varget). It has worked well for me with 69 and 77 gr BTHP bullets. What is the deal with the disappearance of IMR-8208XBR as well as H-322?

Another that has worked well for me but also sporadically available is N133. Powder Valley and Midsouth have it occasionally.

N135 has worked well and ar-comp will get a test after my move. Varget is my jam with 80s so it will definitely work but I haven't shot 75s with it. As for ball I use TAC

Varget, H322, N530, N133, N135, AR-Comp - All extruded, thanks. Seem to be the next best things in the list being close to XBR on the burn chart. AR-comp being next in line but also hard to find. I guess I could start with whatever’s available from that list.

My vote would be for Varget. I actually started using 8208XBR because I couldn't find Varget. Now I can find Varget but not 8208XBR. Always good to have several choices for each application.

AR Comp, Benchmark, H4895, TAC, SW Tactical Rifle, Power Pro Varmint, N135, and N140 have all worked very well with 75's in an AR for me, along with 8208XBR.

I have some Accurate 2495 I will try soon for .223 Rem. with 69gr bullets, saving my 8208 for 30-30 Win. 2495 has been available for me locally.

Imr4985 is supposed to give top velocities with 150s in 30-30. Rumor is that accurate powders are a little slower, might be a good fit. I have imr4895 and 4064 in a box for testing... haven't jerked the trigger on them yet.

I use CFE223 for my AR.good velocity and since it's a ball powder,I can use the powder measure instead of weighing each charge.CFE usually isn't quite as accurate as the extruded powders in my experience. In my 223 target bolt action,8208 reigns supreme as far as accuracy goes.8208 and the 73 grain Berger BTHP's are very accurate,I have shot some very impressive groups using that combo.

Try n140. It’s expensive also but will pay out. I’m trying n540 now in some 75gr loads but I think I’m going to work some n140s up also. Or get some tac or aa2520. I shoot a lot of those loads in my ar.

Good stuff guys. Thank you. I might venture into other powders here by attrition due to lack of XBR. I found the perfect combination with XBR and 75gr. Just sucks that I found a load that makes holes touch and the powder goes unicorn.
