Unlikely
The 7mm IHMSA cartridge from a 15” bbl produces 2,200-2300fps with a 154gr cartridge.
The 9mm with a 147gr produces 1,100-1,200fps at the muzzle. At the distance to the silhouettes, it’s perhaps 700-800.
Apples to oranges comparison.
I may stand corrected. Field pistol uses 1/2 scale targets. At 100yds for rams.
I’ll still recommend it (147gr). As it starts subsonic and doesn’t experience the transonic turbulence that causes the accuracy issues.
In PPC competition I used a 115gr JHP as they remain supersonic beyond 50yds, but transonic beyond. I never shot a 1490 with a semi auto, but did with .38 revolver.
LongShot is what I use with a 120gr cast @1,200fps. With a 147 I recommend AA#7.
My S&W performance Ctr. PPC 9’s have 1/18 3/8” rifling as do the revolvers, so is best with lighter bullets. They were also factory tuned with 115’s.
However, many of my fellow competitors used 147’s.
For practice I’d suggest the RMR FMJ’s. For matches, the Hornady 147gr XTP.
