Here’s a project that has been sitting around for a few months. I had picked up another Jo Bob Outfitters Spartan 9mm lower to build a pistol, but wasn’t in a rush toget it together. I had plenty of other things that needed to be done.

I found an upper on sale at Delta Team Tactical, 7.5 inch, slim rail for $149. I wanted an SB arm brace, just don’t care the blade type. I ended up getting all the parts in and started on it about two months ago. The first problem I ran into was the buffer tube was to tight so, I ordered another pistol buffer tube from Brownell’s. When the new buffer arrived I decided to finish the build. But the new buffer tube was to small and the brace would slip on and fall off.:cuss: So I just put everything on the side.
Well yesterday rolled around and the weather, well it sucked. It rained off and on all day so I just spent the day catching up on a few things. Even got around to putting that new 4 foot LED light on my six foot bench. Talk about brighter then the old light. That’s when I saw the box with the pistol brace. I pulled out the idiot sheet and it stated that due to pistol buffer tubes not having a standard size that the brace may fit loose or tight. If tight to use something to help it slip on. If loose to put some tape on the tube.
I decided to go with the tight fitting tube and boy was it tough to get on. After a short fight, that I won, the brace was on. The rest of the build went smoothly. I took it to work this morning and function tested it. It dose not like the Winchester 147 gr ammo, just doesn’t feed good from the mag. It works great with 115 gr ammo.
I still need to get some sights. May put a different muzzle device on it. This is going to be a fun gun.

Gunny

Another quality AR build! Like the clean lines and overall compactness of the gun.

The only drawback is taking 1/2 hour to fast draw it from your CCW holster! :)
Putting a can on it would slow down the draw more.

I'd like one too, but I can't afford the can much less the piece. There should be a discount for old age people like me who need social security to pay for their gun purchases. A government subsidy for old veterans would be fine. Guns still cost less that medicare treatment for the aged.

Gunny, since your LEO isn’t your wait time minimal for a supressor or other NFA items?

That’s a nice looking pistol!

Same amount of time. I think it would be less time if bought on a Dept. Letterhead , but there's no way our Chief would sign off on one.
My SBR tax stamp took 9 months, and I have a trust . May go ahead and get a can but will most likely get it for 5.56. That way I could use it on my SBR, 5.56 pistol and my other AR's.
Nice clean lines on that build. I like it. Simple, but effective.
I like my AR's simple and functional. I have some with a little bling, but for anything that is built for duty, EDC or self defense, I like to keep it simple.

Self-edited out humor and/or sarcasm.

Nice pistol build, Gunny.
