Folks, I have a Browning Hi power in .40 S&W. I know that Bar-Sto offers a drop in barrel for this pistol to convert it to 9mm.
Does anyone have experience with this conversion? Reliability? Problems?
Worth the effort?

TIA
Roger

40S&W to 9X19-
You will need a slide for the 9X19 barrel.
You will need magazines also!

Look into a 357 SIG barrel to drop into your 40 slide.

Bar-Sto and Sig

Knew someone who had a Sig 229 (.40) with a 9mm replacement barrel. Barrel seemed very high quality (typical Bar-Sto) and was drop-in. I'd expect it to be the same for your HP.

The first time I was able to put any rounds through it I actually used the .40 magazines, just didn't fill them up all the way. No malfunctions that I recall, but wouldn't recommend it for serious use.

I have my eye on a cheap Sig-Pro .40; if I get it a 9mm barrel will probably be on it's way soon after.
