I am buying a new 9mm CZ75DAO. I know every pistol is different, but I'll ask two questions anyhow. 1. What weight bullet, with standard pressure ammunition, shoots to point of aim at 7 yards with your CZ75? 2. What factory JHP ammunition have you shot enough times (say, at least 100) from your CZ75 without a malfunction?

My CZ75B eats anything -- I mostly shoot Wolf or CCI Blazer whatever is cheapest, lately its been Blazer.

At 7 yards I think it'd be difficult to detect differences amoung ammo. Mine has good alignment of POA and POI at 10 yrds.

At 25 yards+ you'll probably want adjustable sights but on a defense gun its just one more thing to go wrong. Adjustable sights that get out of whack can make you miss at 10 yrds.

No problems with the "Not For LE Use" 124gr +P Gold Dot JHP from www.ammoman.com or Silver Bear 145gr JHP.

I have found the that the WWB 115 gr. shoot to point of aim at 7 yards. Coincidently so do the 124 gr. I have shot about 300 rounds of WWB 115 gr. JHP through my CZ 75B with no problem at all.

I mostly shoot S&B FMJ through CZ.

I have 1000 rounds of the "Not for LEO use" Speer 115gr and 124gr JHP through the pistol split evenly.

I have a skosh under 3k rounds total through the gun.

No hiccups to date.

The 9mm was originally made in 124 grain, and then 115g. Both generally shoot to point of aim or so close you can't tell in any 9mm out to about 20 yards, beyond that, you might have to adjust your sights.

Every pistol even in the same model can be different, and they can be picky. My Glock 30 doesn't like Winchester White Box FMJ rounds (hard primers) even though most other 30s have no problem with it. Mine likes Remington UMC, and others don't. It just depends on YOUR gun. Any good hollowpoint load should work with a CZ75 though, shoot two boxes and see.

What MrMurphey said. I have to be well past 20 yds to be able to tell what's ammo and what's me when it comes to differences in POI with 115s and 124s in my Witness.

Strangely enough, the difference is quite marked in my Star M43 at 10 yds, with 115s about 3-4" low and 124s right on the money. Go figure.

Buy a couple of boxes of each and try 'em. IMO, you'll find that there's not enough difference to worry about for all practical purposes at 'social' distances. There'll likely be more difference between where they hit with two shooters using the same gun.

Sellier & Bellot of course

Hi, I use S+B ammo. 115 grain $4.85 a box from natchez. It shoots where the gun points for me and WWB shoots a little low. It is somewhat dirty and has red laquer on the primers so it leaves a red dot on the breech face. In the past my 75b has shot 250 rounds, one range trip, with no malfunctions with this ammo. I think the Cz 75 is reliable and it should work with a majority of different brands of ammo. pete

I have used the S+B hollow points but not enough to say for sure how reliable they are. I have never had a failure with them.

Anything that shoots. The CZ75 is the one pistol that I have found that will work with ammo that makes other pistols cringe. I learn to reload on a CZ75 and even then I did not have any problems.

Ditto on the S&B. If I am not mistaken, that little computerized test fire report that comes with your CZ was produced at CZUB using S&B 115gr ball.

Mainmech your Star was probably, being a European gun, designed to work with military/police issue 9mm FMJ, which is generally 124 grain, which is why it hits right on with it and low with 115.

Nearly anything will work in a CZ-75, as long as your springs are in good shape. I use Blazer, S&B, and WWB FMJ 115/124 for practice. Defense ammo is mostly Speer GDHPs standard pressure 124 grainers, though I'm trying the Remington bulk pack JHPs out next weekend. :D

I have never had a failure with a CZ. I have fired all kinds of weird stuff, including the nifty South African surplus-good cheap stuff, when it's around!

My CZ-75BD eats anything I feed it. The only problem ever was with a batch of Olympic with hard primers that wouldn't ignite in any pistol. At 7 yards I can't tell any difference in bullet weight.

i've got my eyes set on getting a CZ75B as my first gun and reading threads like this one multiple boards tells me a lot about the gun.

i think its going to be an excellent choice as a first gun. the only thing to figure out is whether i want 9mm or .40. i'm thinking 9 mm.

i DO love reading and researching BEFORE going out and buying something. other people's experiences can be invaluable.

Winchester w. box. Walk up to range , load mags. rock & roll. Go home and clean guns. No malfunctions with any of my CZ's yet.

Mine was happy with everything but reloads I sat too long. Only shot some WWB and UMC for factory ammo in it. 115 and 147 gr. No problems but the UMC was the only ammo that has not been supurbly accurate in it. It was even worse out of my dad's Firestar. Might want to avoid A-Merc (American Ammunition) as well. Don't confuse this with Federal American Eagle, which is good stuff.
