9mm LCR? What are the chances?

Can you just have an LCR cylinder scalloped to take moon clips and shoot 9mm through it?
No, the chambers have to be reamed to accommodate the 9mm case because it is tapered. It is larger in diameter at the base than a .38spl.

I have a S&W 360J that has been rechambered to 9x23 by Pinnacle High Performance. The conversion has worked out great for me.

I have emailed Mark a couple of times at Pinnacle about doing the 9mm conversion on the LCR (I've offered to buy a new cylinder/crane assembly), but so far no response...

Call him, he's terrible at answering emails but he'll answer the phone. I've been doing business with him for several years and have spoken to him I don't know how many times but have yet to get an email response.

An LCR designed from the ground up as a 9mm would be sweet.

First off the cylinder could be shortened from the current length and the barrel lengthened by the matching amount. Or the gun could be made that much shorter. The difference in lengths is a bit over 1/2 inch.

Actually the difference in length is such that some consideration would need to be given to a purpose designed 9mm snubby revolver to ensure that the cylinder gap remains reasonably well forward of the gripping hands. So a whole half inch shorter cylinder may not be something that would be achievable.

Roger, thanks -- I'll give that a shot.
