I used 9 targets... All were at 10 yards~ with 9mm and 10 shots (except the sig was 18 shots)

First 3, CZ 75
Next 2, XD
Next 1, Sig P226
Last 3, CZ 75

The way off shots were when I was trying to do rapid fire a few times... bad idea ;)

I also attached a closeup of my first 10 shots with the CZ 75

I'm really leaning towards getting either a DA/SA or a SA CZ 75 with manual safety (dual tone or satin nickle)

I think I shot the CZ 75 the best and I like the feel of it... The trigger could be better, but I might look at a SA instead as they have better triggers Ive heard.

Any input on what I may need to work on would be appreciated... I tend to be low most of the time, rarely do I miss high.

I went out to the range last night again to watch some Action Target shooting and at the end one of the guys let me shoot his Para-14, i think, with rear loop and front red optic sight...

I fired off 4-6 rounds and missed the steel, and then they gave me a few obvious pointers that I was missing (squeeze the trigger with the tip of the finger, and hold the gun solidly with both hands). After that I did a LOT better... so that was probably a lot of my problem at the range earlier

Those targets look good to me. Just shoot the snot out of whichever you get. The one CZ75 I shot one time was the best feeling fit my hand thing I've come across.

At that distance my XD-9 will tear the 10 ring out. I'm not bragging, I am just sticking up for the XD. I think that the XD should be the most accurate out of the bunch. They are all great guns however and it is hard to go wrong with any of those three.

Good shooting DX. Good enough to kill a man, right? ;) Hey, no sweat on not landing everyone in the 9 ring. My targets look that way sometimes too. So nevermind the criticism and just practice practice practice! :)

I shoot my XD40sub-c about the same way he shoots his XD9 :what:

(Actually I have learnd how to keep my shots inside what would be his 8 ring on that target, took practice practice and more practice though I still get eratic "groups" though  )

Just like another poster said, Just practice practice practice, and do a little more practicing after that! & Keep it up :D

That was my second time shooting 9mm at a range... so I think its a step in the right direction...

I wasnt holding the gun properly (I found out lateR) and pulling the trigger long... looking to do better with some practice (aka 1000 rounds :)

If possible, get some professional instruction. Then send a lot of lead down range. Pay attention to technique. There are no natual born pistol shooters. Some just practice more than others. Shoot well and often.

CZ Compact at 10 yards

About as good as my PreB - new gun - breaking it in. Top group is 1.5 inches - because one pulled out - probably me. I don't remember how many I emptied in the center. Despite the small size, I managed one 4.5 inch group off-hand at 25 yerds (10 rounds).

Judging from the target photos, it looks to me like you're anticipating recoil (pushing the pistol forward). You may not notice it, but you don't have to move your piece very much at all to toss the bullet a couple inches low at 10 yards.

Have a buddy load a couple magazines for you. Give them a couple of snap caps to slip in so that you don't know where they are.

Thats an interesting thought Janitor... Im going to test how I shoot when I get the new gun with the few pointers Ive been given, and then maybe try that too..

Here is my best shooting so far with my CZ75 Compact. Ive had her for almost a month now, and I have been shooting regularly since June this year.

My groups are getting better, but as you can see, I need more Practice , Practice Practice!!! Especially firing the first shot of each clip D/A

Maybe I had an easier target, since its a Full Size silhouette

15 yards, CZ 85 Combat after trigger job. It's a pretty big target, though, I think.

:rotflmao:

BTW - wrt your original post.

Temper anything I tell you with the fact that I'm a pretty crappy shot. :)

"I wish I could shoot letters, now that takes skill! "

And it REALLY takes a lot of skill to make all the radial paper tears come out exactly the same on each shot of those letters! :scrutiny:

I said I was bored at work, not on vacation :) different tears would have taken a little more work :)
