Sort of. How big is too big? No, put the testosterone down, gents, talking about your sidearms. How big is too big for YOU to conceal? In your situation/required dress, what do you normally carry? I put in four choices to reasonably accommodate most choices, both auto and wheel gun, I believe.
I personally carry a full size duty pistol, either my CZ P-09 or SP-01 Phantom in a High Noon Holsters Close Encounter or Down Under, respectively, both mounted on a High Noon Rock Steady gunbelt.
Just curious. And would you kindly state what carry rig you are using, if you don't mind, because I firmly believe that is as important as the chosen firearm.
Thank you for your time, much appreciated.
I have divided my carry rotation into seasonal carry, cold weather and hot weather.
During the months of cold weather or anytime a jacket can/should/must be worn, I generally will carry a 1911 or GP100 Wiley Clapp. I carry them in a Wild Bill's Concealment Leather Speed Scabbard, on a Simply Rugged's Real Man's Gun Belt (my choice for all EDC uses).
Two spare 8rd 1911 mags in a DeSantis double mag pouch.
The GP100's HKS speed loaders carried in Safariland metal spring clip carriers and an extra speed strip carried in a Simply Rugged's Most Versatile Ammo Pouch.
Spring &Summertime: I usually wear a Guyaberra or other Third World leisure shirt (I cut quite the dashing figure in one if I don't say so myself...HAHAHA!!) I usually carry a CZP01 (or these days, a Walther CCP) or a S&W 386 Night Guard.
When carrying the P01, I'll have it in a Wild Bill's Speed Scabbard or a Kirkpatrick version of the Summer Special IWB. The CCP is in G&G's take on the Summer Special IWB or a Yaqui Slide. The 386 NG is in a Wild Bill Speed Scabbard or a simple Bianchi leather IWB.
I carry one spare mag for the P01 in a DeSantis clip-on single mag carrier.
The CCP in a very flat custom made leather double mag pouch originally made for my P5 back in the 1980's.
Spare ammo for the NG is the same as for the GP100.

As you can read, I'm very pleased with Wild Bill's Concealment Leather products and Simply Rugged's leather products.
One area I've found is absolutely essential to effective EDC is the belt. I've seen people spend a lot of effort into purchasing an excellent holster, only to put it on a guano belt.....A quality holster
must be carried on a quality, purpose made belt!
