Someone recently posted a thread asking about is there a chart for AK's, which naturally started a discussion about the seemingly million different variations and how it would practically be impossible to conduct some sort of chart. Personally I disagree, and let give my background first to let you understand where I am coming from.
I am the sales manager for Arsenal, Inc out of NV.
OK, now that that is out there I want to let you know that there are specific standards to which an AK should be manufactured. As with anything engineered there are tollerances made. Most manufactures of this type of rifle in the U.S. do not have these tollerances and therefore build by a method of reverse-engineering. Which some people do a decent job and some don't. I'm not here to bad mouth anyone...I am here to say that yes, it is possible to create a chart or standard because it has been done by the original manufactures. Also, I would be happy to answer generalized questions concerning the AK platform to the best of my ability, of course I'm not going to be on here giving out tollerance levels and dems. because quite frankly that wouldn't be good for my business, but anyone wishing to ask some questions about the AK platform I'll do my best to answer, and if I can't I promise not to BS or pull something out of my a@#.
