After finding and buying two guns that I have been thinking about for years, I realized that all the other guns I really have a hankering for are way too expensive to even consider.

I look at this as a blessing in disguise.

I waited too long in the Christmas ads after thanksgiving I saw several AR-15's for sale. Now I wish I had bought one. Never really desired one but it would be fun to play with. Now I will not pay twice the price or more for one. Maybe in a year or so some common sense will come back to the market.

Blessing.

Put that money on more ammo, training, range time, and ammo.

Don't know what u saw on "sale" at Christmas but it'll be near the same price soon if it isn't already. As are its competition so don't limit yourself. In a few weeks or a coupla months AR's will be quite sanely priced all over and it'll be a buyer's market again. S&W has really mainstreamed and set the benchmark for AR's -- I'm really rather impressed how "right" they launched their guns.

Ammo? Not nearly so optimistic...

I look at it as being neither a curse or a blessing; more like a healthey dose of reality check. If I can afford it then it's a blessing and if not...well then it's curses, foiled again

I would say, "neither."

Over many years I have found that the "too expensive to buy," guns sometimes aren't if you shop the used market and are willing to settle for something less then perfect. Other times I found something else but less fancy.

Keep in mind what you want (and reasonable alternatives to them) and once and awhile lightning will strike.

Neither a curse or a blessing, just a fact of life that we live with. For some the glass is half empty for others half full, for me I am just glad I have a glass to put something in.

Its a blessing.
You'll find cheaper guns that make you happy!

A mag that I subscribe to, did a review of "Beer Budget 1911s"
I bought one of them (American Classic II) & just love it.
I've got well over 1,000 rounds thru it & it works great.

Never would've thought I'd love a less than $500 1911.

There are a lot of guns I don't have now because in the 80's and 90's I had children to take care of.

I haven't bought those guns as yet because I'm not so sure I still need/want them. I have enough guns to feed.

Some of them may still find their way into the safe...maybe.

I cannot afford a registered magnum either, but I doubt it would be any more fun to shoot that my Model 27 or Trooper MkIII. Cooler? You bet. :)
