A Day on the Border in California

Why cant you shoot them? Would these same border patrol catch you any quicker than they catch the illegals? Or is it different rules for people trying to prevent this?

We need to change the constitution to deny citizenship to people born in this country of illegal parents. And then we need to shoot anyone we catch on the wrong side of the border. The mexicans dont behave any nicer to us. I'll volunteer.

Truly scary stuff. I wonder how many terrorists have snuck in over the Mexican border so far. I read a story about a guy who lives on the border and he found Muslim prayer rugs lying around :what:

however......

We're still not a police state.......right?

The TSA still pats down every grandma boarding a plane these days for fear of her carrying boxcutters and evil nailclippers while we now have not one but TWO Patriot acts taking away (yes taking away) everyones rights up and down.

Now you tell ME who's incompetent.......

These federales and barney fifes of the world better had get their heads out of their collective arses......These same logicless people have (four) cameras at almost EVERY major intersection in my small city, however they still guard the borders in such a pathetic manner.

If we took every mouthbreather that works for the TSA and turned them into a border guard I'd feel 100% safer than them violating EVERYONES rights at the airport AND we would have a MUCH safer country. ALL checks done at airports today are song and dance. Total 100% unfiltered BS!!!! My god the border between our little pinko frenchy poo arch nemesis up north, Canada is quite tight in comparison but we can't guard people that cause REAL crime and REAL damage to our country from down south because it isn't favorable to our economy????

This country (govt) needs to get a grip. 5-10-15 "patriot acts" from now and countless attacks later we won't have any rights (and don't right now anymore) but we will STILL have old ladies patted down getting onto a plane and we will STILL have open borders.........

Way to go America! Raise my taxes too while your at it too would ya?

:barf: :barf: :barf:

Logistics,

As a mouthbreather, I would like to say that several members here work for the TSA and would not care to be associated with the likes of me.

David

Thanks for a first hand account Travis.

We know that there are terrorists coming in with these "undocumented workers" yet we insist on doing this song and dance with Vicente Fox......we're going to get zapped again and we're going to get zapped hard. Naturally, the solution will be to enact some laws that will only affect us law abiding citizens. :fire:

David.......

David,

Pardon my sweeping generalization, however, especially in this day and age, you are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

Please carry on and confiscate some nail clippers, feel up some old lady's and get those box cutter sniffing dogs out! My god we (you the TSA) can't even bring ourselves to profiling even in the LEAST, or even a tad bit of judgement in screening. :barf: Hmm...should we feel up this old lady/soccermom or this *possible* muslim extreamist that cannot speak english???

Continue on feeding your families and keeping yourself clothed by violating the rights of other fellow americans. We are proud of you! You are helping bankrupt the airlines and gut the constitution! (for $10 an hour I may add!)

If you really cared about saving this country go work for the DEA or INS.

You think I fly??? HELL NO! I've actually made use of my pilots license since I got it about 10 years ago.

So if you think my sweeping generalization about $10 an hour workers is unfair, tough beans. Try getting those at the TSA to profile and weed out actual threats, stop this group think garbage that toe nail clippers are going to bring down a jet and maybe people woulden't mind flying so much.

Failure to take the highroad is what is bringing this country down.

This problem will never be addressed nationally.
If solutions are ever going to be found they have to come from state and local government. There are laws on the books that could be used to make life interesting for these people that have nothing to do with hopping the border.

We have to start thinking out-of-the-box.

In many places judges can assign community service for violations of local or state law. I can think of more than one state where people convicted of low level crimes are given the option of picking up trash on the highways, working at the animal shelter etc. I may be wrong but in some places they may have no choice, they do CS or get locked up and/or pay higher fines.

What if the individuals caught in these sweeps were just charged with trespass or littering or causing property damage with their tennis shoes and the judge assigned them to CS of picking up trash on these ranches. Those healthy enough could be tasked to help repair fences. Underagers could be turned over to the BP and all the able bodied kept and assigned CS. Also, to take out the $ incentive they could only be released AFTER they completed their CS for, oh , say a fine of 500 that has to paid locally. The 500$ pays for jump suites, food and less than glamous lodging while they do their CS.

Not sure if I would even ask if they were there illegally. When the family came from LA to pay and pick-em up I'd just let'em go. The federal vio would not be an issue for my department.

30 days of picking up trash, or dog crap or working fense lines plus paying a fine would sure put a crimp in their lifestyle. If they couldn't pay the fine then dump them on the BP after the CS is done.

The local LE agencies could start their own local interconnected databases (db) for repeat offenders. If caught too may times, then charge them with a felony, boost the fines, whatever. I'm not sure there is anything to keep a county from building their own db including DNA. The fines would cause the program to become self supporting in pretty quick order. Who knows, there might even be a surplus.

I bet the jumpers would think twice about crossing in that particular area a second or third time especially if they had to work free for a week or month or so, had to pay a fine AND ended up in a db.

[[the db idea would catch a few rapists and murders, the fact that kind of data was being collected would be scary to the jumpers plus it would build the kind of stats some people are trying very hard to ignore and I think you know who I'm talking about]]

Living down there and hoping for fixes from on high will be fruitless. Never gona happen. All that can be done is for people to look after their individual areas, one county or one state at a time.

The idea(I believe) is to control us not the borders it's all about money,
greed. :(

Logistics,

Sir, you are way off base (not to mention off topic). If you want to continue making an @$$ of yourself, please start a new thread and bring your second.

I don't believe I was off base. I simply stated in my first post that we should completely do away with 90% of the TSA or what have you and simply transpose those workers into border patrol agents. That would make us a much safer country. That was the original point of my first post on how misguided our country has become.

However, YOU David, just wanted to tell me that I was changing topics and was "way off base" instead of attacking pro OR con ANYTHING in either of my posts. If I AM wrong please tell me so! I am absolutely open for debate and critique at any point in time!

Keep it up with the group think with the TSA and you will go far! $8 - $15 an hour to be quite exact. I may be stretching it though. ;)

This report can't be factual - our President, George W. Bush has promised to protect America and that certainly would include securing the border with Mexico. ;)

travis, next time take some pictures so the rest of America can see what is going on.

I see it out here as well. Whenever Im out hunting I can always find fresh signs of the invasion.

Ah but that was why the Department of Homeland security was created. Remember the arguements about combining all the departments? After the airline industry is broke and gone all the TSA personnel will be stationed on the border. Interdepartmental cooperation and all that. Somebody do the math. How far between people will it be on the border.

Lets say there are 60,000 TSA employees, based on this article. The US/Mexico border is 2,000 miles long, roughly. 60k/2k = 30 people/mile. Work an eight hour shift, so three shifts per 24 hour day works out to 10 people per mile per shift. That means each employee watches 1/10th of a mile of the border.

Sounds doable to me.

Lennyjoe, I've got pictures, but I don't know how to host them. I can email them to somebody who can host and post them.

Matt

lets do this...

pure math...estimated illegals in the US now is around 10-15 million...estimated NEW illegals entering every year...1-3 million..fast forward 5 years..now you have between 15-30 million illegals...STOP

HAMMER TIME

so at some point every state in the US is going to wake up and say..hey, we have several million illegals living in our state (ask the folks on the far reaches of long island NY how it feels to be invaded and be called racist when the citizens protest against a rapid rise in "illegals" hanging out on street corners looking for day work)--politicians will just see the problem as votes and business will see it as cheap labor and the rest of us be damed.

there will be bills passed and some form of amnesty will be given and the flood of "illegals" will continue - ONLY NOW they wont be called illegal and the borders will be open OFFICALLY...and there will be a mass increase of people from every country south of the border, asia & africa..and why not...just because mexico is geographically next to us does not give them the right to be the only country to have easy access to cross a disappearing border

all sorts of financial fixes will be proposed to solve the budget problems we will have but they will be way too little and late..and as 5 to 15 million "new americans" pour into the US every 5 years..well...do the math

would i "shoot to kill" illegals crossing over..nope..this misses the problem altogether..its not pedro & maria that are the problem.

perhaps we forget how many $$( billions) the "drug business" has and runs this problem, buys politicians(on both sides of the border) to look the other way and support the new "citizens" causes (language programs, drivers licenses health, education & welfare etc) this IS big business..an industry unto itself..and like it or not..its here to stay

(if you remember the FIRST honda "car" and laughed..need i say more)

Since they are on private property, can't they be arrested for criminal trespass by the local Sherif instead of calling the BP for catch and release? Maybe filling up the local jails would create some media publicity.

Hey Travis -

You are just seeing the tip of the iceberg. I hate to see what we are leaving to our children's children. What a mess. We used to laugh at the "wetbacks" that worked the sugar beet fields. Now, that term is no longer PC, in fact I would be banned from some places for using it, hopefully not here. The wetbacks will be the predominate work force if allowed. They will work for less, demand no "bennies" and really don't much about work conditions. The American worker needs to wake up and smell the flowers or they will be lucky to have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of.

"Wetback" is not PC. But how about "sweatback" as a new term for the American taxpayer who funds the fun and games?

We are all of us deeply asleep. Even those of us who understand the magnitude of the problem can't rouse ourselves from our slumber sufficiently to come to grips with the actions required. Yeah, it's scary, because the people causing the problems are our own Government, our business community, and, as often as not, our own neighbors.

There are those who say there are already too many to do anything. Really? Fifteen million today; fifty million tomorrow. And tomorrow's not that far away.

The stuff will hit the fan in California first. Either the state will go into federal receivership or taxes will have to raised to confiscatory levels.

The people who run America don't want this problem solved. That means either it gets worse or those people get replaced.

Send the pics to your federal and state rep, or better, to Bill O'Reilly. Yes, he's pompous in the extreme, but he has shown some interest in this issue.

Also, sounds like an idea for your next book.
