I belong to a rifle club in London and today I was down there shooting one of my .22 rifles. Suppressed, of course, as I often do.
One of my range buddies said I need to see a .22 rimfire rifle he acquired at an auction. He had it with him on the 50 yard range. I asked him what was so special about it, and he told me that only four of these rifles were ever made and that the whereabouts of only two of these were known, his rifle being one of them! The bolt can be removed, the handle turned and it can be set up to be used left handed. The rear sight then gets flipped also. Some of the sight components are modified BSA or Parker-Hale but the rest of the gun is special.
Can you guess what rifle this is? One clue: it was made in the 1960s...

I'm stumped. Obviously a dedicated, serious target rifle. At first glance I thought a Win. 52. Is it a single shot? Whatever it is "fairly rare" seems like a huge understatement.

It is a rifle made by a Polish world war one vet, in Birmingham, England.
The maker was Dr M. K. Jurek:

The serial number of this gun is 18:

There were several toggle-action guns using the serial numbers from 1 onwards, but of the ambidextrous-capable guns with a traditional bolt, the owner says there are a maximum of four in existence.

And yes, I made sure to fire it, as it is a limited opportunity!

I am not much of a peep sight shooter. I could only get this group at 50 yards:

Having said that, I did much better with another rifle he had, which was also a bolt gun but was an old German gun with a very light trigger. I got three shots touching at 50 yards with that gun. Other guys were one-holing it with the German rifle (I didn't get the details on that rifle, sorry)
