A friend contacted me a few days ago to let me know that he had sent me a small pocket knife as a gift. He said that it was a switchblade that was made in the 1920’s.
I checked my mail yesterday evening and there was a package from my friend. I opened the package to find a strange little pen knife, a cool, strange little knife.
I checked the brand name and saw that it was Fyllock, and made in Bridgeport CONN.
I looked it up and it appears to have been made between 1923 and 1926.
I also saw that in very nice shape, these little knives fetch a pretty penny, but I have no plans of ever selling it.
The little knife does need to be cleaned up a little, but it functions great.:D

That's a really cool little knife in really very good condition. If it was mine I would rub the blades down with a lightly oiled cloth and maybe the teensiest bit of a light oil on the joints and springs. It's old and should look like it!.

BTW, your little knife should date from 1923 to 1929 since those are the years of production for the Flylocks.

WRT celluloid, UV and heat are the enemies of celluloid, but it is not a durable material and normal offgassing by the celluloid leaves many celluloid knife scales shrunken, brittle and cracked.
