I happened to come across this excellent made back in New Hampshire days 2009 SP101 Ruger snub 2 1/4" spurless hammer model . . I don't carry my beloved beautiful 1969 S&W Nickel Model 19 2.5" with Fuzzy Farant grips anymore. It used to be my Sheriff's reserve Bar B Que gun. This is gonna be my pack gun and Ruger still supports these . It will either fit a Colt Dick Special Holster or a K snub Holster so I won't need to buy a holster. I never had a SP101 and I know they are plenty beefy for a .357 .
Here is the Best Part ! It was $399 with $30 shipping to my FFL !!!!!

Nice! Congratulations @Gordon

I was in my LGS the other day and they had 3 used SP101s for sale. I am racking my brain to remember the exact price, but they were in the mid $400 range. Each one had a different grip style (one was like yours) but I got completely sidetracked by a GP100 with a 2.5” barrel and I could swear I was reading a price of $368! It was $689. Someone can’t write properly. The “$” sign looked like a 3. I left without my $368 GP100 and without checking out the SP101s.
My LGS rarely has more than 2 used revolvers in the case.

Very cool, you picked up a solid revolver at a nice price. You can’t ask for much more than that :D.

I have a .38 SP 101 that had the same black panels in the stock grips. I picked up an OEM GP 100 compact grip and some inserts from Chigs Grips to dress up my 3” GP-100 .44 Spl., then I put the wood inserts from the OEM grips on the SP. It doesn’t add any functionality, but I think it has a bit more flair than with the black panels. YMMV.

Let us know how it shoots when you get a chance.

Nice find. It took me a while to get used to shooting the SP101, but that's just a hand size issue. I can do fine now, after plenty of practice.

I put new springs in mine and eventually settled on the Hogue Monogrip, like many of us do.

Yeah, you can actually shoot 357's out of those!

I have a friend who's "not a gun person", but after careful research and holding/shooting a bunch of handguns, chose an SP101 in 357 as his only SD firearm. IMHO it was a very good choice.

Love the Artdeco grips!

Thanks , because of you bought a set of Mesquite burl panels !
Nice! 😇

It’s funny how much a little slice of nice looking wood adds to the look of these guns. I like rubber grips on my hard kickers, but those grips have no soul. Adding a little pinch of spice brings it out, with the benefit of the original grip helping with a bit of recoil control.

The Chigs panels on my SRH .454 and the GP-100 .44: IMG_0434.jpeg

And a bit off topic, but a touch of eye candy; a couple of Blackhawks with Chigs panels, a flattop .44 Spl. and a .41 Mag: IMG_0433.jpeg

Stay safe.

were did you get those GP100 Panels?

I tried a couple of different options, but settled on these grips for my 3" .327 SP101. They just work.
(Ignore the other two 3" revolvers.)

That is awesome, Gordon. What a nice little piece and a prefect size gun to pack around.

Congratulation on a great find!
