I went with 10 mm Auto. I currently have a Glock 29 on my belt. I've carried it in the woods, at home, while shopping and traveling. It seems to meet the requirements of the question. Yesterday I had my Kimber K6S on my belt. Had I got online yesterday I might have voted .357.

Did I miss someone else pointing out that there is no such thing in practical use as the .280 Winchester?

No 300WM, 6.5 Creedmoor or .40 S&W seems like an oversight.

This was a rather fun poll!
10mm is my 1st choice, 12 ga. is my 2nd.

I resemble that remark.
I choose the 10mm . I believe it covers all the bases from indoors to the wild. Plenty of power in a concealable package and can do the job in the wilderness against most small and medium game.

I picked “Other” and I was going to pick 7.62x39…SBR AR for HD and an AR or AK for the “wild”…but there isn’t a really good “street” option.

So I’ll have to go with 9mm. Plenty of good HD options with high performance ammo (my Sig MPX K is a great HD platform), for daily carry, and PCC options for the wild.

As much as I love my .45 ACP — it’s hard to argue with the ballistic data on modern 9mm defense rounds. They’re just as effective as .45 loads.

Hmm... well I don't know exactly what the scenarios in the home, on the street or in the wild are going to look like, I choose 7.62x39, in a Ruger Mini-Thirty for one gun, of course.

Look up what various African Park Rangers carry to confront highly-armed poachers of rhinos, elephants etc.

Some of those poachers are well-financed by foreign companies and a few of the Insurgents/ poachers have been known to have anti-rank missiles.

AKMs, FALs (even new DSA FALs) and G3s/HK-91s plus AR-15s or AR-10s (?) are seen among rangers. Good enough for the US, maybe?
