I own a kimber Custom TLE......love the gun however, When I shoot my pistol, my thumb presses against the slide stop that protudes through the frame....causing the slide stop to come out and jamming the pistol while firing.......any lefties out there with a fix or am I going to have to readjust my grip?

another option is flattening the side stop pin and dishing the frame -- pretty simple job, and invented for just that reason:

No problems with this lefty shooting a Kimber Pro Carry.

Never had the thumb getting in the way of anything.

Maybe work on adjusting your grip a bit or thumb placement.

You can flatten the side that protrudes as mentioned by Kaylee or change your grip so that the thumb does not lie against the side of the frame. I just changed my grip. If you flatten the end of the slide stop and still press your thumb up against the slide you may still pop it out enough to cause the same problems you're currrently experiencing.

I'm a lefty also. I have a tendency to push it out of the frame from the right side during recoil.

On every 1911 I own, I chop off the button so that it's flush with the frame. Then I'll put a nice little checkering pattern on it so it doesn't look too trashy.

As you can see, it works out pretty good. Also, note the loss of finish around the slide stop..it's where my support hand thumb always lands.
