A Light on My Self Defense Weapon?

Ken,
A police officer often points his weapon at someone he doesn't intend to shoot unless that person forces the issue. I've never shot anyone in my capcity as a police officer, but I've pointed my weapon at plenty of people while making arrests, and it's been pointed at a few people who weren't arrested during raids.

The kind of houseclearing that is done in law enforcement and in current military operations is a lot different then what you did in the Marines. Nowdays even the military trains for encountering noncombatants while fighting in buildings.

I've never had a problem using indirect weapon light for ID in FoF. I have also never seen a structure cleared without a gun being pointed at an interior wall.

Like I wrote before, you should carry a handheld light along with a weapon mounted light because they are not completely interchangeable.

Thanks for clarifying, Jeff White. Ken, I sometimes forget that not everyone has been a cop... The world looks a little different after one answers a few hot calls or makes some SWAT entries..
