Brian showed up last week with a high mileage Winchester 1400 and fit in with the rest of us. An affable guy with a big grin, he lives close to PGC and enjoys shooting.

Being a Geezer means being just a bit idiosyncratic, though outright eccentricity is overdoing it a bit by common opinion.

So, as I headed down Good Luck Road to PGC, I passed a vintage tractor and thought,"Now there's an old timer". The suitably dressed driver had on a straw hat, jeans and shooting vest.

Yup, it was Brian, giving his completely restored 1944 International Harvester W-9 some road time.

The parking lot at PGC often has vintage cars on it, there's a couple regulars that have restored the cars they wanted in high school. A couple mid 50s Chevies, restored MBs and an MG TC are frequent visitors.

Even a 10 passenger Lincoln stretch limo has been seen there. I drove that one.

But this was the first tractor I seen there other than county equipment.

Brian pulled up a couple minutes after I did. We chatted, and watched as darn near every person on the range came by and admired the IH. Certainly every man with grey hair did so.

But it was time to shoot. A round of trap singles ensued, followed by Chinese Trap. Doug K ran the singles, and backed it up with an amazing 23/25 at Chinese, including hitting all 5 from the back fence. I didn't score quite so well, getting a 24 on the singles and 19 at Chinese, but had fun trying.

After a short break,Brian and I were joined by Tom Held of this BB on Range 7, where the wobble trap was launching them high, low and sideways. A couple rounds finished up the session, with Brian getting his very first 25 straight on the second round.

We didn't shoot his hat as tradition required. He hadn't heard of the custom nor did he want his straw ventilated. We didn't insist.

Brian and the IH headed for home as I Boresnaked the B-gun. I reflected that I had just been outshot by a guy with a much used auto who rode a tractor to the range.

Definitely one for the books.....

Great story Dave!

Funny, there's a really nice '55 Chevy 210 that shows up at our Trap club on sunny days.

I just drive an old pickup:

Dave,
As you know, you ain't the first, and won't be the last person to be out shot by such folks.

Great Story!

I am going to enjoy some fond memories of Mentors now...*hehehe*

Thanks, guys.

Don't bet against the guy shooting a 20 gauge Model 12 with no blue nor bead.....
