I stumbled across an auction on eBay last month, for a Weaver V4.5 scope. This one dates, I think, back to the middle 60's. The scope arrived in the mail today, and boy is it a beauty. 20mm tube, Variable power 1.5 to 4.5, and a tapered post recticle.
I mounted it on my Marlin 1894S, removing the even older Weaver K2.5 that has served me so well on many a deer hunt.
This weekend, its off to the range, to sight it in. The optical quality of these older Weaver scopes always amazes me.
