I saw one of these in Cabelas a few days ago. I've always respected the Buck 110, but anymore simply prefer a more modern, slimmer, lighter knife with better steel than 420HC. I see one of these in my future. I like the S30V steel and they are really light and thin for easy carry. I prefer the deep carry clip too.

They come in brown, black or green scales and in the smaller 112 size.

Cabelas and Amazon are selling the 110 for $89 and the 112 for $79.

I just bought a new Buck 110 LT at Walmart for $19.99. It is a 110 blade with a polymer handle instead of the dymalux wood and brass. It is incredibly light compared to the standard 110. The main negative is the lack of a metal liner in the handle but as long as you aren't using it as a crowbar it shouldn't be an issue.

I've seen the 110's at Walmart, but this is different. They make 2 versions, one with Micarta or G10 handles and S30V steel that sell for about $80-$90 They also make a very similar version to the Walmart knife with plastic handles and the old 420 HC steel that sells for about $30. Neither of the new versions come with a sheath. But they do have a pocket clip. These are much thinner than the Walmart knife and carry well in the pocket. These also come with a thumb stud for one handed opening.

There aren't many options out there for S30V steel under $100, most quite a bit over $100.

Spyderco has a pretty good selection of folders between $95 and $130 in S30V, and a few in S110V for under $130. If we include S30V's very similar brother S35VN that adds several models from Bestech, Kizer, and Cold Steel in the same price range.

Getting an S30V blade with G10 or Micarta handles under $100 in a USA made folder is quite the accomplishment though. The trade-off is that 110/112 Slim Pro are pinned, so you can't disassemble them for deep cleaning if needed. You can't even adjust the pivot for preferred feel. The lack of user adjustability and lack of user maintenance options have stopped me from buying a Micarta handle 110 Slim Pro. They are an interesting entry to the market, and I hope it pressures other US makers to compete with them.
