Put the new grips on the Model 81 Beretta I bought for my wife. I think they really improve the looks and she loves the way it feels in her hands.

They are the Super Rosewood grips from Altamont.

The grips don't come with screws so I had to rehabilitate the old ones which were rusty. Polished them with a Dremel, degreased with brake cleaner, then used some Brownell's Oxpho to reblue. You can't hardly see them in the new grips, but I thought they came out looking pretty nice.

Had to order some of the thin-bit Magna Tips advertised as being for "narrow slotted European screws." I got the thinnest they offered and they fit my 81 and two of a buddy's little pocket Berettas perfectly. Nothing either one of us had would even come close to fitting those screw slots.

Those Rosewood grips look great! I had some Walnut grips for my Model 84 but they were a bit too wide (as were the Pachmayrs I tried), so I went back to the factory plastic ones for concealed carry. I remember running into the same problem with grip screws as well. Took one of my extra screwdrivers and ground it down quite a bit to get it to fit in that tiny narrow slot!

Funny...I call all my guns “girls” because, just like boats, it costs so much to keep them in powder and accessories!

If it were my gun it would be a girl too, but as it's my wife's...

I’m impressed with Altamonts grips. I bought some for my Single Six and Wrangler on Black Friday, I really like the way they look and feel.

Nice choice for the Beretta .

Stay safe.
