A Red guy went Blue

I am a 20-year vet, and I spent 15 months in the sandbox. In that entire time, we never had a sniper assigned to us. We were told that we didn't need one. We did have 2 guys that were issued weapons that we called spray an pray. But the rest of use we issued weapons that were meant to hit "center mass" you know an area about 11'X18".

...........If they knew what their wives spent on clothes, shoes and purses, that rarely get used, they would likely buy the best of them too...

you also said that there are as many positions as people........very sage.:)

I'm not poor, we all "choose" our own priorities.....and what's most important in our lives is also as variable as people. Reloading and shooting sports is fun, but not at or near the top in my life, and that's by choice, I'm not deprived.

Wife, 5 kids,17 grandkids and 3 greats is my summit. Everything else is filler. As for my wife buying shoes & clothes, and expensive sewing machines and a serger....jmorris is right. But then I encourage.....without which she wouldn't buy much of anything and she has always earned everything I can talk her into.

I sure don't begrudge jmorris, he takes care of his family too. If his funds were more limited....and he had to choose his wants or his wife's, his sweet wife would come first. That said, he IS lucky to have the talent & means to do what he likes to do. I feel just as lucky.

You bet, lots of times it’s purses or shoes for Mrs. Morris or a vacation for the family vs something I would think was cool. There is a return on investment though, she also takes good care of me. Why she bought me my first 1050 so we would have more snuggle time. ;)

As time goes on, if you watch you will find I do not comment on any rifle reloading topics because I do not load rifles nor do I own any therefore I feel I have no business commenting on things I know nothing about. Same goes for reloading tools. If I don't use them I do not offer an opinion with the exception of presses as I feel I have used enough different presses that general impressions can be made. Though when I do offer impressions I also include the reasoning behind my impression

Good point and very well made.

There is a difference in my view on being critical of a piece of hardware or technique and being critical of the attitude or debate skills of the individual making a claim. A great example of what I'm talking about is my attitude on the ABC book. I have all 9 editions of the book, editions 4-9 at the ready every day. The book is not misleading nor is the information in it in error. A lot of the information is however, dated, verbose and not relevant or useful to the beginner handloader in the year 2018. There are better books available now that cost less money and say more in less words and contain superior graphics. However, many posters will recommend this book in a knee-jerk fashion. I think they do this in part because it is, as I've said, a safe recommendation to make because I'm only one of a very few that take exception to the recommendation.

Went from a 550 and SDB to two LNL's. The LNL's work as good as they did. Everyone is different
