I teach English at a Michigan Community College. I do not keep my pro-gun views secret – in fact I tend to proselytize.

What I ask is this: would you approve my recommending this site as a source of information, a place they can post inquiries? Or would you rather not be bothered?

I know I don't post here often, but this would be my reasoning from what I have learned here so far. Other members, PLEASE correct me if I am wrong with anything, I know I'm still kind of a noobie.

1- As long as the individuals are polite, stay on topic, and open minded, they should be welcome.

2- Gun related discussions are the point of this board. We are willling to get into discussions, as long as they stay civil.

3- On simple questions, they would be recommended to search before posting, and read previous discussions on it.

I personally recommend that they lurk for a while, search and find the information that has been posted here before, and only post if they are honestly interested in learning, and are asking something that hasn't been hashed a million times over.

Keaner has it. By all means point interested individuals in our direction. However, if they try to troll the board with anti-gun views, disrespectfully, they will be banned. Respectful discussion, even from the other side, is always welcome.
