A Rifleman goes home...goodbye, Labgrade

Yesterday, while his wife was at work, Labgrade (Alan) died in a house fire. While we may all have disagreements at times, I knew Alan well and I know that he was a good and smart man. I ate with him on his porch, the only part of his house that is left standing. He was a Rifleman, for sure. Labgrade, you'll be missed.

I never knew labgrade, but he's been a fixture here and at TFL for so long, I know I'll catch myself missing his posts.

After last year's Colorado get together, my son informed me that someone had shot a hole in one of our poppers with the .309 JDJ. I asked him who and he said "The guy who owned the Contender".

I was a little pissed, but I couldn't stay mad at Labgrade very long, so I didn't say anything.

Never did get that hole welded up.

Tonight I think I'm gonna place a rose in that hole, and salute that popper.
