Forget that Daewoo makes cars, appliances, electronics, and you heard so many POS stories from internet trolls that never had their hands on this piece; just remember that the Koreans know how to make a fine, reliable pistol: the DH40 in S&W .40, 11 shot mag. This is a pawn shop find for $200: no FFL transfer or shipping fees: a bargain. The exterior has some holster wear, possibly a duty or back-up by an LEO, but internally shows no wear and appears not to have been fired much. The barrel was as immaculate as a “cat’s behind”.
It strips for cleaning in seconds, the easiest of my autoloaders, and assembles in the same amount of time. I can’t get over how well the parts are mated to one another…It has 3-actions: SA, DA, and a fast action. The only mild complaint is that it’s a longer trigger pull than I am accustomed; but can adjust quite rapidly with more shooting. The 3 White-Dot combat sights are a +: it lines up fast and it hits where it’s intended. The over-all length is a ¼” shorter than my S&W 9mm. Yes, I know many of you do not want to add another ammo to your inventory, but if you really want a .40: give the DH40 a look-see. This .40 is getting strong consideration for my carry in my cross-draw 3-slot pancake.
Shooting in “Double-Taps” at 5 & 7 paces using Remington’s 180 gr FMJ.
