I reload for the 10mm as well (usually using my own cast bullets, 145gr or 175gr) and load them as they are suppose to be loaded/hot.
Though seemingly much louder, I've never felt the recoil from a 10mm to be much more than +P loads from a .45acp. That said, I've never loaded anything heavier than 175gr (though I have sent a few boxes of 200gr Underwood XTP, still not bad).

Now, the .460 Rowland, that can be a beast. Even with the compensator, recoil from loads exceeding 1000 fpe can be felt after a few rounds. I can't help but feel every round I put down range is equivalent to 10 of .45acp in terms of wear (XDm 5.25).

I believe the 10mm is one of the very best rounds out there even if one is restricted to factory fodder. It can be found in the mild variety, middle-of-the-road, spicy and nuclear. It's easily my favorite handgun round.

I also reload for the 10mm, and I do like my loads in the spicy range, but I'm not sure I can tolerate 350 rounds in one session. My nuclear loads are with 200gr Double Tap WNFP cast...truly "thumpers". I've never shot a hotter handgun, though I surely would given the opportunity, and indeed will some day when the right deal comes my way.

I tend to agree. I guess I tend to approach 10mm from a standpoint that if it's truly brutal, then the load is really warm, or more likely the gun it's being fired from is lacking in either weight or is ergonomically not suited to the shooter. None the less, though I do notice a very perceivable difference in recoil and muzzle blast over other semiauto cartridges, so it will tire me out faster than other cartridges do.

What I really like about the 10mm is that I am able to throw a heavier bullet than 357 magnum, at similar velocities, and I don't get the sharp recoil of a 357 magnum revolver of the same size. My 10mm loads are currently throwing a 180 gr bullet at 1225 fps using Accurate #9. I have a little more room to go up, but I need to use a different bullet. I plan to step it up, but honestly that is plenty of thump for what I need, it recoils less harshly than my 357's, and I can carry 9 rounds in these guns rather than 7. Don't get me wrong, I still like my 357s and load for them also, but the longer I shoot 10mm the more I realize that because I load my own, it more or less makes 357 magnum, 38 special, 40 S&W, and 45 acp pretty much irrelevant. There's nothing I can do with those cartridges that I couldn't do with a 10mm.

I'm curious what you're shooting them out of? 350 rounds of warm ammo is a good workout, but my loads may be lighter than what you are shooting. I really feel these guns make it pretty doable, and I have fired some Underwood stuff out of them. Those were 140 grain bullets clocking 1500 fps from the above posted two tone Sig. Other models, I don't know. I'm really curious about the Tanfoglio Stock III or the Limited. They seem like good options, and I'm only hearing good things.

Forgot to mention, until I can find some 200 gr HSTs, and the money to buy them this will be my carry load for the woods.

They are Underwood loadings with 140 gr Lehigh Extreme Penetrator bullets. I don’t typically go for light and fast, but the solid copper construction with the stew driver point means they’d sail through my largest local woods threat.

Clocked them at 1500fps from my two tone Sig. I also want to load some Cutting Edge 190 gr flat point copper solids, just to see how they do.

That's exactly what's in my RIA 1911 (Ultra FS). I've been eyeing the 150gr Xtreme Hunter as well, but I believe the 140gr Penetrators will do just fine.
