A family member of mine is retiring after 28 years in the fire department, and is leaving as a captain. I was approached by my cousins to do a build for his retirement gift. I figured I’ve got nothing better to do during quarantine, so here it is. The fighting Irish fireman was the station 4 logo off their patch. And ‘The Captain’ is pretty self explanatory.

I really like the wood furniture. Where did you find it?

This company named Blackwood out of Washington. Really nice guy. The furniture set does cost a very pretty penny ($550). It sounds outrageous at first, but when you break the cost down, the viper pdw stock it uses costs $330 normally without any wood furniture. The grip is machined aluminum with English walnut grip panels, and the mlok panels are nicely cut as well. So you do still pay a pricey premium, but not as much as I first thought It was.

They sell the parts individually as well

I am on the record as NOT being an AR fan; BUT that is very nicely done and I am sure will be an awesome gift and greatly appreciated! Great work!

Very nicely done! Someone should be very pleased with that one! (I would)
