This has likely been old news as I watched a video regarding a Winchester rifle that was found leaning up against a post out west. They started out showing a picture of the gun - the picture was of a brass framed Model 1866 rifle.
As the video continued, once again they showed the gun, but this time it was a 1903 autoloader. Continuing into the commentary and video the picture changed back to the M1866.
Then as they talked about condition the scan was of a Model 1894 ? How intertaining. As they were wrapping up the video they said the gun was engraved with 1873 and showed a short glimps of a well weathered Model 1873 Winchester leaning on the post. The gun was to be hung in a local museum. (probably going to hang a Marlin 1893)
Just found it a little entertaining - nothing like finding a mars space ship, but amusing anyway.
