Just got my remmie back from the gunsmith. I had him cut the barrel to 4 1/2" and install my Dixie Gun Works dovetail site. I had already removed the old finish. I installed new nipples and just finished fitting the grips to the frame. I have a Cylinder pin retaining clip ordered from River Junction. This will allow me to slide the pin out far enough to remove the cylinder and reload or swap to another, without worrying about the pin coming out during carry.

I need to finish polishing the metal surfaces, but I'll need to do this by hand and by dremel tool, as I don't have any fancy equipment.

As soon as the clip comes in, I'll shoot it to see how close the front site is to POA.

It is looking more and more like I might want to get a conversion cylinder for it, even though it will be used mostly as a gambler's "show" gun for our reenactment group. (a lot more BP and cream of wheat will be shot through it than real ammo)

This was a Pietta with a holster I bought from a guy at work in 1999 for $50.00. Was a wallhanger for a long time, then decided to unretire it and cut her down.

Would like to nickel it, but then so far after selling the holster for $20.00 a few years ago, I have $30.00 for the gun, $80.00 for the barrel job with site installed, $40.00 for the grips, $30.00 for the pin retaining clip and $22.00 for the nipples. that $202.00 for the gun as it sets. I think I'll stop for now.

but it looks good...:)

I think for now I'll just polish it up in the white with some polishing compound. Kind of running out of money for my toys for the moment. I'd like to Nickel plate it some day, I'll have to see..
