My wife and I downsized and relocated in early June 2019.
All my loading gear is still packed away because I have not had time to set up shop.
I no more than got the repairs completed on the new-to-us house and an old and dear client called asking for a favor for one of his tenants. It's been eating 100% of my spare time (I work full time for a firm). I was just coming down the home stretch, expecting to complete the drawings and specifications by end of this week and he hits me with a possible major change! :cuss::cuss:

I thought the withdrawl symptoms had mostly abated, but when I got off the phone with him, my hands began to shake and my eyes began to water! My vision blurred and I became nauseous. The next thing I knew I was staggering toward the kitchen for the 7up and Jameson's! :what:

What if I go so long without loading that I don't recognize the smell of powder gone bad? What if my vision decays to the point I can no longer read the print on the primer packs?o_O What if I forget how to use my powder measures, dial calipers or balance beam scale???:uhoh::uhoh::uhoh:

Is this what real nightmares are made of????
Is this an indication of what the New Year is bringing to the Poper loading bench?????:eek:

Oh, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woe is me! :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

Really good,LOL. Do what I did when I lived in an RV, I made a 2x4 stand for my press and used the kitchen table. I use the same set up now in my mobile home except I have a three cornered table and an unused bedroom. I've loaded thousands of rds. and very little $ spent. See my avatar, sort of shows it.

I know the feeling just when I thought that I was going to get the spare bed room for my reloading and gun room we filled it up with kids and grandkids. Oh well I still have the dinning room table.

I've also had to contact rcbs 3 times in the last month, twice in less than 2 weeks because of 6 stuck cases that ruined expander ball and threaded rod
For 2 full length size dies and then broke the bolt that holds the shell plate on the ram of my auto 4x4.

Good thing I still have the special 2 single stage.

Maybe change your case lube.

I understand.
When we relocated, we spent the first 4 years in a 1,000 sq ft apartment.
I loaded a little, by C-clamping a 2/12 with press and powder measure attached to the bar a few times but it was a PITA.
Now my side of the garage houses my loading bench, and all is right with the world again.

I can relate, when I went through divorce, I moved into a temporary residence, was formerly a rental property I owned. During this time I did very little to establish it as my actual home, had most of my stuff in storage. It took me 2 years to finally get in a position where priorities allowed for my hobby again. If you look at my postings on this forum, there is a 2 year gap in my posts, this was that time in which life was not allowing hobbies to be a priority. We live, we adapt and we overcome, soon you will be back on track and be back at the bench and this will all be just a blip on the radar.

Yes.
However, I am almost 65 and do not have that many years left. Right now it is give a little to get a little. The recent, sudden, unexpected death of a friend two years younger has brought some things more sharply into focus.

My view is every day that goes by is a day closer to that hole in the ground
We have three live in grandkids 24/7/365.
They put the brakes on a lot things we had free time for. She is 55 and I am 62.
I started my eight year old grandson shooting since he was four years old. At first It was just 22lr, 22mag and 17HMR.
When he reached six years old I got back into reloading so it would open up a lot of centerfire handguns and rifles I have for him.

I make do with a walk in closet for my gun/reloading room.
This time around I got into the reloading with a lot of more interest then I had forty years ago. I made a promise to him I will take him out shooting every weekend from when the show leaves until the snow comes back.
Some weekends we will leave early on Saturday, spend the night up in the Cascade mountains and come home on Sunday night. And he shoots all day for hours & hours which takes a lot of ammo so reloading make it possible.

Sit back and see what your priorities are and work around them. At this stage of the game take a day or two a week for your time. Get your program going and enjoy it, some day it will be done and I never seen a luggage rack or a trailer behind a hurse.

For two years now I have been making a list of guns and reloading stuff that I will buy for the year. I have a good start on this years list and I will chisel it down month by month.
One thing for sure here shortly is a Hornady progressive press. I can hardly keep up on my single stage presses, but my grandson is old enought and mature enough that he can do a lot of the reloading processes. Of couarse I supervise.

Well you should be saving plenty of $$$ by working instead of reloading....
Hardly. I am married.
AND, just because I don't have a loading bench yet, doesn't mean I have stopped acquiring firearms.:uhoh: Why, just yesterday a spanking new Winchester 1885 Low Wall in .243 Win. suddenly appeared in my gun safe! Can you believe that ??? :scrutiny:
Poor little guy looks out of place, though, without his bases, rings and scope.....:D

I had a similar experience when I bought a house 4.5 years ago and brought a press home like a year later. It say in the box for a year before home improvements were completed for the short term. Drove me crazy.

Bow Im back at it, but I plan specific times for loading.

You could skip the Jamo, change your name to Pill Poper, and take appropriate action. It’d make you worry less.

Nah, don’t do that.

The hardest part about moving was finding all my stuff. 10 years later, and I still find things I've long since given up looking for and replaced. Our move sucked. Closing got delayed repeatedly, and suddenly happened during overtime season so all was done in a rush. I did get to claim an upstairs bedroom as "The Gun Room" though, so that helped.

Life is too short to not do what you love. You'll never see a U-Haul in a funeral procession. Do what you need to do to get back up and running. Clear a space, run some power tools, make it happen.

At home, I've wanted a Finnish sauna for years. Finances always got in the way, something critical needed fixed or replaced every year it seemed. This year was a good year for overtime, not so much for doing fun things, so I built one in the dark this fall after work and on Saturdays. Still not finished, but it's up and running. Big bucket list check mark, and feels like a great weight lifted off of me. Just do it!
