I found similarly priced threaded barrels online for the gun I need. I'm just looking for a barrel to turn one of my pistols into a host.

One is made by AAC, and from what I've read online at AR15.com, someone claims they have more of a "duty" chamber like OEM Glock barrels, rather than a match barrel.

Then there are two by Storm Lake, one in black that looks virtually identical to the AAC, and one in stainless that says it's a "match" barrel.

Thoughts? Anyone have any experience with either of these? Pros/cons? They are all similarly priced.

Thanks in advance!

I've only had one Storm Lake barrel. That isn't enough to say the whole line is good or bad and I know many have had good results with them. Mine, however, was worthless. It turned a Glock into a jam-o-matic that couldn't get through a magazine without multiple malfunctions. Granted, it could have been a fluke, but at the rate they go for and considering there are other options, I wouldn't buy a Storm Lake barrel again. YMMV.

I've read a few spotty reviews of AAC barrels, but there aren't many reviews out there. I was told AAC & Storm Lake are both under Freedom Group now.

The difference seems to be that the Storm Lake advertises "match grade rifling" and full chamber support. The AAC just says it turns your gun into a suppressor host. Another forum had a post about how the AAC barrels are closer to the original Glock barrels in terms of being "duty" rather than "match" barrels. I presume the lesser chamber support may make for looser tolerances and better reliability. I've read some reviews of Storm Lake that have feeding issues and need to dremel the feed ramp to get it running right.

Having trouble finding another drop in threaded barrel for an XD 45. Any other suggestions?

You're not going to get "match" accuracy out of any barrel with a suppressor attached.

I had a Storm Lake threaded for my Glock 19 and it was unnecessarily long. I sold it and replaced it with a Silencerco threaded barrel. Can't tell any difference in accuracy.

Ive also had a few storm lake barrels. One on a Gllock and one on a S&W . Neither were really match grade but I didnt expect them to be with the silencer attached. The glock didnt shoot any better accuracy wise with a storm lake than it did with a Lone Wolf and it functioned 100% with the lone wolf. It didnt feed or fire worth a damn with the Storm Lake but to be honest I didnt spend much time trying to make it work. I didnt feel that I should have considering it cost $100 more than the lone wolf did.

If I can hit a grapefruit at 10 yards with the silencer attached I'm happy. For a defensive pistol thats good enough.

I have a storm lake on an XD45 and a Silencerco Osprey 45. It shoots round nose well which is what I loaded to play with the suppressor, however at the range one day, I accidentally picked up a magazine of carry ammo (Winchester PDX) and one of the hollow points got stuck on the base of the feed ramp. That's how I figured out I was shooting my darn carry ammo!! No problems with round nose though.
