Frisco... unfortunately...
The new ABC show Line of Fire seems to have good gun handling. Not many condition twos from the trained guys, but quite a few from the mobsters. An ND just occured due to a condition two+tension on trigger+ no safety. The ND also deafened one of the characters....

Sounds good to me. Anybody else know this show?

-Edit-
Someone just said "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6."

I haven't seen the show, so I can't comment on it.

However, isn't condition two when you have one in the pipe but the gun's not cocked?

I've been tivoing this since the first episode and I kind of like it. However, some things are just so over the top that I'm getting ready to bail. My girlfriend keeps telling me that I have to suspend my sense of reality before I watch tv and movies but I keep forgetting.

Line of Fire

I have watched it since the first episode because it temporarily replaced NYPD Blue so I thought, it cant be that bad. Well, it might be.

It is just so freakin cycnical ... could the writters throw one more over the top stereotype into the plot. Last night for example ... Pregnant BG, takes Glock 20 (love it) off FBI office sexist, incompetent old timer, makes incredible use of id card to get away, has a drug problem, gives birth during chase, dumps baby in dumpster, baby is found by female main character FBI agent even though there are 30 freakin locals searching/standing within 10' of said dumpster, she is troubled by the lack of compassion BG has for her newborn, but it is female main that takes down the BG in a glass shattering, hand to hand, foot to chin grapple, wih no backup.

I will not even get into the whole mobster side of the story.

Things I like, the Glock 20s are big and intimidating. The nickel 1911 mobster NDed last night, the head of the office is a drunken lesbian with issues and that should be fun to watch her implode. No sexism meant, just that it will be interesting/entertaining in its tackiness to see how grandious the writters plot her downfall.

Its not NYPD Blue ... or even close in the reality end of the sprectrum.

If you cannot tell between a tv show and reality, I will come to your house and take away your tv!:D

Since I work for an ABC affiliate, I pretty much end up watching every bit of tripe they air.

I've found that 'Line of Fire' has been slowly growing on me, despite the fact that it has the nerdiest mob boss in television history.

Gun things I noticed last night: The protagonist cocked the hammer on her Glock. Ignorant foley artist, I suppose. There was a bit where she kindasorta did a Full Sabrina when she was clearing the house. (Low ready! Use Low Ready for cryin' out loud!)

And the scene where the guy had the gun shot near his head was better than most, but not quite realistic. You're ears are ringing? You should be happy, because you ought to be deaf. And no powder burns, either.

But I've found that so long as I root for the good guys, it's an engaging and amusing television show.

(Good guys = mob ;) )

It's TV! Try not to take it too seriously ;) I have seen a couple of the episodes & find it entertaining.

Thats the only episode I have seen. Does this show ever have a number of positive male characaters? I got the impression the majority of men were crooks, possibly dirty cop, sexist, not as competent as women. Hopefully all the shows are not like that. I like strong women but lets have some balance.

The mob boss might be kinda nerdy, but he does have presense about him, don't he! I like that series and I really like the mob boss. He is such a wimp physically, but he is so used to wielding power that he loses it when told "No" for whatever reason. A study in contrasts and he is alot of fun to watch. The show has a few issues that need tweaking, but all-in-all I plan on watching some more.

the head of the office is a drunken lesbian

Anyone else watch 24 ? The actress playing this character, played Jack Bauer's wife on season one of that show. Just a little pointless trivia. We now join our regularly scheduled thread, already in progress ;)

BTW, I like Line of Fire, but I like NYPD Blue and The Shield better. :D

i liked the last one at the end where the two masked guys walk up beside the guy while he's takin a leak all non-chilante and he looks over and he's like *** !!

gun handling's alright, but i'd've shot that pregnant woman in the head

abc..the shield??

the show just tries too hard. Its trying to be "the shield" and it cant because of network censors. The first show will turn out to be the best. Yes it will have to be in constant "over the top" mode to compete with "the shield"
